I don’t consider myself to be particularly talented in applying makeup and I tend to stick to the products I know but this is something that I am hoping to improve on. Last week whilst I was shopping, I decided to start experimenting with new products and after looking at different brands I ended up buying the the Revolution Redemption Iconic 3 palette and the Revolution Soph X highlighter palette from Superdrug.I’ve rarely worn eyeshadow and when I have done, I’ve generally gone for a nude shade and I’ve never attempted different looks. I had been looking at buying the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and I then saw that this Revolution palette was a dupe of the Naked palette, at just £4.00 I thought even if it isn’t very good then I haven’t lost much. When looking at which eyeshadow palette to get, I wanted to go for one which had some neutral shades as well as some shimmery shades in and this palette has the perfect mix of shades. I was really impressed how pigmented the shadows are, the lighter ones aren’t quite as pigmented but are ideal as a base shadow. The shades look even nicer once they’re applied, so far I have used the paler rose gold shades which are easy to blend and layer as well as lasting all day long. There are plenty of shadows to go for either a daytime look or more of a dramatic look for a night out.
Those of you who follow me over on Instagram will have seen that whilst Chloe was staying with family at the end of July, I decided to give Chloe’s bedroom a bit of a makeover. As we rent our flat, we are slightly restricted as to how much in the room we could change, with this in mind I opted for some accessories to help transform the room.
Here are a few before photos –
When I was putting together a Pinterest board, I wanted to take into consideration that later on this year Olivia will be sharing the room with Chloe. I didn’t want to buy any new furniture at the moment, as it is likely that Chloe will be getting a single bed once Olivia is moved into her room, Chloe is really excited about sharing her room with her sister and is already asking for bunk beds so I had to bear that in mind when working out where to put the furniture.
I can’t believe that Olivia is already half a year old! In some ways it feels like only a few weeks ago that I was in hospital ready to be induced to meet our little princess. Sometimes I struggle to remember what life was like without her as she completes our little family.
People always say to make the most of every moment because it goes so quickly and it’s so true. I really try to embrace every day with her and take lots of photos.
As Olivia is turning 6 months old, I’m really starting to notice how quickly she is developing. I’m so proud of her when I see every new thing that she learns to do and watching her personality developing.
