The New Year always feels like a new chapter, a chance to reflect on the past year and the time to start over with a clean slate. The new beginning brings the opportunity to plan out the upcoming year and plan out my goals and resolutions. Nearly every year I have set out and broken my resolutions within a short space of time. I have come to realise that perhaps some of them are too ambitious so this year I am setting myself some smaller but more realistic goals which I thought I would share with you all.
Upping My Beauty Game
Over the past year I have come to realise how important self care is and what a positive impact it has on my mental health. With that in mind, I’ve got to admit I do need to establish more of a beauty routine, I don’t know how many times I get into bed then realise I’ve forgotten to take my makeup off! I also want to invest more time in playing around more with makeup and doing more research into different brands and products rather than impulse buying. Being More Organised
I’m generally a fairly organised person, so much so that Dave often jokes saying about my obsession with lists and notes. Despite this, I feel so unorganised since I’ve gone back to work, I think it’s because I feel like I’m juggling a hundred things every day so I’m going to start using my free time more effectively to make for an easier more organised life. One thing that I’m going to do is to start doing is batch cooking and also using the slow cooker more to help on those evenings when I get back from work and can’t be bothered cooking (which often results in takeaway).
Doing More Of What I Enjoy
I want to invest more time in doing more of what I enjoy and to take some time out for myself. I’ve got quite a few books that I’ve been meaning to read for ages so I’m going to start putting my phone down more and picking up a book instead or get into one of the tv series I’ve had on Netflix for ages.
Spend More Time Outdoors
One of my resolutions for last year was to spend more time outdoors and make the most of the beautiful part of the world that we live. I want to continue that this year and now that I’m back at work full time I want to make the most of our family time at the weekends and rather than staying indoors and want to spend more time outdoors.
I would love to hear what your New Years Resolutions are, feel free to comment below.
