So you may have seen over on my Instagram that I headed to Lush with the Bournemouth Bloggers a few weeks ago for the showcase of their Mother’s Day range. I’ve been a huge fan of Lush for years and thoroughly enjoyed the previous bloggers event I went to October last year, you can read the blog post here : An Evening At Lush With The Bournemouth Bloggers.
So I was very excited when I received the email with an invite to the event. One of the things I love about Lush (besides from how amazing their products smell!) is how enthusiastic and passionate the staff are about their products and the ethos behind the brand.
On arrival we were greeted with prosecco in one of their little black recyclable pots. The black pots are normally used for many of the face masks and other lotions and are part of their black pot recycling scheme. Once you’ve collected 5 empty pots, you can then pop into a Lush store with them and exchange them for a free face mask.
After the staff introduced themselves, there was then a brief run through of the activities which would be taking place throughout the evening. This included the chance to make one of their most popular bath bombs Sex Bomb as well as the Angels On Bare Skin cleanser as well as some product demonstrations of the new products in their Mother’s Day and Easter ranges.
I began by heading over to display at the front of the store to learn about the new products. We learnt about the ingredients in the products as well as having a smell of them before dropping them into a bowl of water to see the effect of the gorgeous colours spread across the water.
My favourites were definitely Golden Egg and Incredible Mum. I will certainly be popping into store soon to treat Chloe to the Stegosaurus Egg and undoubtedly many more bath bombs, like me Chloe is a massive Lush fan.
Next I went on to the station to make the Sex Bomb which is one of my all time favourites. This bath bomb is a blend of ylang ylang, jasmine and clary sage oil which is an ingredient renowned for helping induce labour and I have tried this bath bomb several times at the end of my pregnancy with Olivia.
Making the bath bomb was a lot harder than I thought it would be, it was quite tricky to place the rose in just the right place to be able to see it once the bath bomb is made. The staff were really helpful and I was pleased with the end result and we were able to take the finished product home with us which was lovely.
I then had a browse around the store before heading to the tills which had been kept open throughout the evening and purchased a few of the products which I had been tempted by during the evening as well as getting a couple of bath bombs as gifts for a friend which she was delighted with.
Lastly I was given a mini arm and hand massage with an ex Lush spa therapist who explained the various spa treatments that they offer in their Lush spas. I will definitely be heading to their Lush spa in Poole for one of their gorgeous treatments.
I was invited to this event as part of the Bournemouth Bloggers and was gifted the products that I had made on the evening but I was under no obligation to write this blog post.
