Peppa Pig Best Day Ever

The girls, my mum and I were recently invited along to watch Peppa Pig Best Day Ever live show at The Pavillion in Bournemouth.

I was slightly apprehensive of what to expect of the show on stage having only ever watching the animated tv programme which Olivia absolutely loves at the moment as did Chloe when she was younger. I was unsure how much Chloe would enjoy it now that she is older but she thoroughly enjoyed herself and was sat singing and dancing throughout and still talks about it now when Peppa Pig comes on tv.

The show follows Peppa and her family on their day out joined by many of their friends including Daisy who narrated throughout. The simple but effective set was created using bright and colourful cardboard cut outs. I was expecting the characters to be life size characters in costumes but instead they were acted out by very talented puppeteers which you could see on the stage however this didn’t distract from the brilliant storyline and acting.

I was expecting the songs that were performed to be the classics from the tv show (which after 7 years of watching I now know off by heart!) I was delighted to hear that they had new songs which had been written for the show. All of the audience quickly picked up the lyrics and were soon singing away and when they started singing the ‘Bing Bong’ song, the girls were in their element which was so lovely to see. There was excellent audience participation which was actively encouraged throughout which kept both the girls engaged from start to finish.

There was a short interval about 45 minutes into the show which was needed as the girls had both started getting a bit fidgety so they were able to get up and stretch their legs before the second half. I was surprised that Olivia had managed to sit still for that long as she is normally such a little fidget.

A massive thank you to BH Live for the gifted tickets. We all thoroughly enjoyed the show and I would definitely recommend going to see it.

I was gifted these tickets in exchange for this blog post, however all words are my own.
